Once again it's been a while since the last blog, but this time I have an
excuse. No, really. We've nearly finished decorating the third bedroom of the
house which has been turned into an office/study (no doubt photos will follow
soon) as I'll shortly be working from home a fair amount of the time. More on
that in a moment.
We've also had quite a few visitors to the new
house so far who have all been great at helping out with the huge amount of
work that seems to required, in exchange for provision of a barbecue and an
evening or two drinking. Even though there's plenty more yet to do, I'd never
have got as much done as I have so far without everybody's help - a huge thanks
to everybody who's been helping out!
Another recent development is
that I also have been offered a new job which I start in a fortnight's time.
I've not been at Global Freight Exchange for as long as I expected, but I couldn't pass up a fantastic new
opportunity working as a 'Senior Consultant' for a company called Altinity. I'll be sorry to leave GF-X
behind as I've been very happy working there, and hope to keep in touch with a
lot of the people I've worked with. In particular with the new job I'm looking forward to the opportunity of working more directly with Open Source software -
something I've long been keen to do.
Now, back to the DIY...
